書斎には大切なレコード盤と本がある。だから猫は入れない。かわりに、壁沿いのトンネルで部屋を1周してもらうことにした。
トンネルはガラス製。歩く姿が見える。この部屋のラウンジチェアーが、猫観察の特等席になった。
部屋には入れないが外は眺められる
■お見せできませんが、ある場所に秘密の入口があり、この「猫トンネル」に繋がっています。書斎には、大切なレコード盤や本がいっぱいあるので、猫達は部屋の中に入れてもらえないかわりに、猫トンネルを使って部屋の中を１周します。
■We cannot show you where it is, but somewhere in the house there is a secret entrance that leads to this "cat tunnel". Since the study is full of precious records and books, the cats are not allowed inside — instead, they make a full circuit of the room via the cat tunnel.
ガラスのトンネルで、部屋を1周する
■猫トンネルはガラス製なので、猫達が歩く姿を見ることができます。この部屋のラウンジチェアーは猫観察の特等席です。何故ならこの他にも、愉快な仕掛けが、もう一つあるからです。
■The cat tunnel is made of glass, so you can watch the cats as they walk through. The lounge chair in this room is the prime spot for cat-watching — because there's another delightful device in store.
見ている側が、見られている
■ふと振り返ると、たくさんの猫達が先ほどのキャットツリーに座って、ガラス越しに書斎の中に居る御主人を覗いています。興味津々のご様子。
■Turning around, you find many cats perched on the cat tree, peering through the glass at the owner sitting in the study. They look quite curious indeed.
